choreography of the sun
As evening settles over the city, the light begins to soften.
The monuments grow quieter, the paths empty, and the last warmth of the sun stretches across stone, water, and sky. In this fleeting hour between day and night, the landscape becomes a stage shaped by gold and shadow.
In this series, a dancer moves through Washington as the light fades around her. The city becomes part of the choreography: ledges become platforms, tree-lined paths turn into corridors of light, and the monuments stand like silent witnesses to each gesture.
Each movement responds to the atmosphere of sunset — the long shadows, the glow on the water, the sky slowly deepening above the horizon. The dancer is not simply performing within the city, but moving in conversation with it, letting the changing light guide the rhythm of the body.
For a brief moment, before night arrives, the city and the dancer share the same quiet stage.
